When the owner received stimulus funding, the team determined programming and design that would result in maximum impact for the seniors and disabled residents of the two highrise buildings on a prominent north avenue site along the edge of the city. The design style for the property was focused on providing light and open spaces which promote socially interactive programs. By providing open spaces, residents are constantly exposed to the activities taking place. Whereas the original design put everything behind closed doors, the new design invited residents to join in.
