Who we are

The mission of the AIA Design for Aging (DFA) Knowledge Community is to foster design innovation and disseminate knowledge necessary to enhance the built environment and quality of life for an aging society. This includes relevant research on characteristics, planning and costs associated with innovative design for aging. In addition, DFA provides outcome data on the value of these design solutions and environments.

DFAR12: Brandman Centers for Senior Care

A non-profit organization, dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable and low income seniors, expanded its services by adding a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). This nationally recognized program offers nursing home eligible, low income seniors the option of remaining in their own homes, thereby enhancing the quality of their lives as well as lowering the cost of medical expenses.
