Who we are

The mission of the AIA Design for Aging (DFA) Knowledge Community is to foster design innovation and disseminate knowledge necessary to enhance the built environment and quality of life for an aging society. This includes relevant research on characteristics, planning and costs associated with innovative design for aging. In addition, DFA provides outcome data on the value of these design solutions and environments.

Mabuhay Court Senior Housing and Northside Community Center
Architect: David Baker + Partners Architect
Full Circle Architecture

This project combines 96 affordable rental units for low- and very-low-income independent-living seniors with a 15,000 sf community center and neighborhood park.

The senior housing, community center, and public park share one large coordinated site that allows for a cohesive design and a pleasant community.
