Who we are

The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

  • 1.  Digital Signing

    Posted 06-01-2016 08:19 AM

In DC and Arlington, VA we are required to submit digitally.  Our firm uses Bluebeam Revu to flatten the digtal stamp (with option of not being able to unflatten).  The seal then becomes part of the document.  For Arlington County, VA we have a choice of submitting hard copies with wet stamp.  However, in the District they will not accept hard copies, so each firm has to figure out their own secure digital signing.  As with everything going electronic, we may not have the luxury of choice in the future.
