Bio

As founder, Allen is principal in charge of Allen E Neyman Associates Concept Architecture LLC, located in Rockville, Maryland. He brings 40 years of architectural practice experience primarily in the commercial and residential sectors. While practicing primarily as a design architect, his experience includes master planning for public and private institutions and entities, site planning and conceptual planning, interior architecture, the design and production of furnishings, sculpture and photography.

His professional accreditation includes architectural registration in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, and West Virginia.

His projects have included a variety of functional and iconic buildings that expand the conventional concept of residential and commercial purpose. His projects include the popular Blacksmith Shop a destination event space in central Georgia, the trend setting Muddy Branch Shopping Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and the Taplin Cellars guest house in the vineyard in St. Helena, California. While principal, Allen’s firm NSArchitects completed the residential condominium VISTA at Arlington, a state of the art residential community of “podium” townhouses and duplexes integrated with a high-rise neighborhood. Allen's custom house design experience includes many residences in the Washington metropolitan area and other locations in the US.

Allen has been active in civic activities and as adult leader with The Boy Scouts of America. Allen was a member of the Montgomery County Sign Review Board for nine years, and for 3 years acted as Chairman. Allen’s commitment to the AIA spans over 20 years and includes roles as board member and president of American Institute of Architects, Maryland Society, and also as board member and President at the AIA Potomac Valley Component.
