One can anticipate major changes within the HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY as we approach 2015. Our aging population continues to impact the USA global character through the power of one's vote, financial status, corporate roles and the family. The escalating retirement statistics, fewer full time employed persons, Medicare enrollment, demands on healthcare and a number spending shifts due to fixed incomes. This era is exciting for me, I've chosen to remain active as a part of the SOLUTION.
I have worked extensively in healthcare planning, architecture, and design with worldwide travels on projects in USA, Mexico, Canada and Egypt. Enjoy the healthcare community for the "human service" and diversity of people including physicians, family, staff, board and volunteers. Hospitals are similar to a small city with all the diverse departments and infrastructure elements. The architecture varies from clinics to large acreage medical centers and multi-hospital systems. We envision a change in healthcare delivery to more outpatient and ambulatory care with aggressive systemwide linkages between primary, secondary and tertiary care providers. Retail medicine and "quick service/convenient care" will be the benchmark but only successful when delivered by "high quality service providers" with excellent outcomes!
My goal is to continue to work in healthcare, share "lessons learned" with peers and clients, speak, write, and promote the ADVANCING WORLD of IMPROVED HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENTS! The future of hospital architecture is very bright and this is my passion (overcoming shortages in federal funding and remaining accountable will be our "collective challenge"). My other goal is breaking 90 more often in golf and spend more time with my beautiful wife, Beth and our two kittens, Lilly and Sunshine!
