I am a Senior Architect and currently the project manager on two of the City of San Antonio's highest profile projects: the renovation of the historic City Hall and the renovation of the existing Frost Bank building, both in downtown San Antonio and design-build delivery.
As the most recent City Architect for the City of San Antonio, I led a team of 24 architects, landscape architects, and support staff to deliver parks and buildings projects ultimately benefiting the citizens of San Antonio and its visitors. I bring to my job my passion to help leaders, teams and organizations in the design and construction industry to flourish. I am an Architect, with 36 years of experience in the design and construction industry. This includes ten years with my own organizations:
1. Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects (I-LinCP), formed in 2010
2. Synergy Builders, formed in 2002
Synergy Builders focuses on designing and improving collaboration and Partnering processes, facilitation and production of Owner's Project Requirements (OPR); training in communications, dealing with conflict, leadership-building, problem solving and decision-making, and organizational culture change and improvement.
Prior to forming Synergy Builders, I had ten years in executive administration and project management with FIATECH (a consortium under the Construction Industry Institute), and at the University of Texas System-OFPC as a project manager and assistant director. My ten years prior were spent as an architect and project manager with architectural firms in Austin, Texas.
I-LinCP provides a collaborative venue for industry leaders from all stakeholder groups to share information and openly discuss capital project industry concerns and challenges.
