     Do you live in the DMV? Were you unable to attend the recent Lunchtime Learning presentation at the AIA|DC District Architecture Center on preserving the Washington Monument post-August 2011 earthquake? Did you register only to learn that the event was full and there would not be a waiting list? Or maybe you never even heard about it because you aren't on the AIA|DC mailing list (shame on you!)!  No matter, you are in luck. Connie Lai, Historic Preservation Manager for Grunley Construction, is an APT DC member and she has graciously agreed to give the presentation again for our chapter. See below for full details regarding the event.

    Repairing the Washington Monument

    Join APT DC at Beyer Blinder Belle on Thursday, March 19 as APT DC Member, Constance Lai, Historic Preservation Manager of Grunley Construction Company, Inc. discusses the construction process of repairing the Washington Monument after the damage sustained from the August 2011 earthquake. We expect this to be a popular lecture, so please register early.

    1.0 LU/HSW AIA/PDH has been requested. Please select the appropriate registration if you would like to receive credits/hours.

    Metered street parking is available on M Street beginning at 6:30pm. The nearest metro stations are Foggy Bottom and Rosslyn on the Orange, Blue and Silver Lines. The program will begin at 6:45. Light refreshments will be served.
