Drawing Revision Numbering Guideline / Standard?

  • 1.  Drawing Revision Numbering Guideline / Standard?

    Posted 02-23-2018 06:57 PM

    Dear Architects:

Do you know if there is a guideline or standard for Drawing Revision Numbering?  I am aware that the US National CAD Standard briefly discusses drawing revisions by the use of a suffix (like "-R1").

Specifically, I'm looking for a guideline on how drawing revision are to be numbered, something like this:

    • Use alphabetic letters (starting with "A") before drawings are issued for bid
    • Use zero ("0") for the Issued for Bid ("IFB") set
    • Use numbers (starting with "1") for revisions after the IFB set (and changes after IFB are also expected to be indicated with Revision clouds and triangles).

Thank You for sharing your thoughts!
