Matthew S. Hart, Associate AIA, joined IPG in 2005 as an intern while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. He became a full-time member of the firm in 2007. Matt attended the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction, and Planning for two years. He then transferred to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2003, where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (2005) and his Master of Architecture (2007).
Matt was actively involved in SCAD’s AIAS Chapter and has continued his involvement serving on his local Chapter’s Board (Southwest Georgia) as the Communication/Education Chair (2007-2008) and Secretary (2009-2011).His responsibilities include publishing the bi-monthly AIA SWGA Angle newsletter, scheduling chapter meetings, and advocating for AIA SWGA and AIA Georgia on the local and state level. Matt has also served as an AIA Regional Associate Director (South Atlantic Region) and was elected to the AIA National Associates Committee 2012 Executive Board.
Matt is heavily involved in community work. As a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, he spent two weeks in New Zealand with a Global Village Work Project, building two homes for two local Maori families. Matt is involved with the local MetroOne Group in Valdosta which strives to attract and retain young professionals to the Metro Valdosta area through social networking, community service, and leadership development. He is also engaged in flying lessons and expects to have his pilot’s license in the near future. He has also received the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
