Bio

Dan Nall is a Vice President at Syska Hennessy Group, and Regional Director of High Performance Solutions. He is registered architect, a professional engineer, a Fellow of ASHRAE and AIA, a LEED Fellow, an ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modeling Professional, a certified High Performance Building Design Professional and a Certified Passive House Consultant. He is a member of the Advanced Energy Design Guides Steering Committee, the New York City Buildings Sustainability Board and is Vice Chair of the ACEC New York City Energy Code Committee. He was Vice Chair of the ASHRAE Standard 189 committee, a Director of the USGBC NY Chapter, a member of the AIA National Committee on the Environment, and Vice Chairman of the USGBC Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. He was one of Engineering News Record’s “Newsmakers of 2007,” and received the “Outstanding Practitioner” award from the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) in 2004. Projects in which he had an engineering leadership role include 200 West Street (Goldman Sachs Headquarters), the Hearst Tower and the NY Times Headquarters Building in New York, the Newseum in Washington, DC, the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Center, in Little Rock, AR, the Banco Macro Headquarters Building in Buenos Aires, the Godrej Headquarters Building in Mumbai, and the U.S. Embassies in Cape Town, South Africa, Sofia, Bulgaria and Kathmandu, Nepal. He has been a faculty member at the Schools of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Cornell University and Columbia University, has been involved in energy efficiency and sustainability in buildings for almost 40 years and has authored numerous papers in professional and technical journals.
