I am hoping to reinvigorate an IFRAA/Interfaith Design track during AIA Virginia's annual conference and expo - Architecture Exchange East. Almost 10% of our attendees report that they work on houses of worship and we're hoping to assemble a compelling series of sessions aimed at exploring research, trends and best practices in this space. In addition to reaching out directly to a few individuals to solicit proposals or suggestions for speakers, I'm hoping the members of this knowledge community might be willing to share their expertise.
Architecture Exchange East is a thought-leadership conference and expo curated by AIA Virginia. This year, it will be held Nov. 7–9, 2018, in Richmond, Va., and we're expecting an audience of more than a thousand architects and allied professionals over the course of our three-day event. Our goal is to bring together the brightest minds and most engaging speakers to offer talks that are future-focused on a wide range of subjects ― and to provoke important conversations.
Talks could range from a one-hour session to a full-day workshop. We're encouraging creative approaches to content delivery, including panel discussions, tours, and guided collaborative conversations. I welcome all proposals. You may also send your recommendations to me by email at rgeorge@aiava.org.
Our deadline for proposals is on April 30. Following the deadline, each proposal will be carefully evaluated and selected by our Program Advisory Council. We anticipate announcing the program in July.
My thanks,
