How have you successfully been able to find and hire architects with experience with historic structures

I am the Principal at a woman-owned and led firm that focuses on historic structures and on new construction in sensitive historic districts. We’re located in Eupora, MS—a rural location, but with energy, a rich history and a hopeful future. We’re looking to bring in a Studio Co-Director, and would love to focus our search on architects with relevant historic experience. I have previously uploaded advertisements to the AIA Career Center—but have not been able to find anyone suitable. I’ve also tried several of the local chapter’s job board including our local board —AIA Mississippi—and LinkedIn, Archinect, and Indeed to no avail.

Has anyone had success with these methods—and to what do you attribute your success? Are there other methods that you have tried that have proven more fruitful?

    Thank you!

    Belinda.
