Who we are

The mission of the Historic Resources Committee (HRC) is to identify, understand, and preserve architectural heritage, both nationally and internationally. HRC is engaged in promoting the role of the historic architect within the profession through the development of information and knowledge among members, allied professional organizations, and the public.

    The Restoration of one of Maryland's Oldest Houses

    Cloverfields is a unique and important remnant of early Maryland architecture and culture. It was constructed at the beginning of the eighteenth century. Since then the house has undergone several transformations, including a renovation in the high Georgian fashion done toward the end of eighteenth century. Recognizing the historical significance of the house and grounds, in 2017 the Cloverfields Preservation Foundation decided to restore it.


    Transparency and open communication is of the utmost importance for the foundation, which has decided to create an informative website (www.cloverfieldspreservationfoundation.org) and to issue a monthly newsletter informing anyone interested on the findings of the restoration team.

    The foundation recently issued its first newsletter: "Cloverfields as of February 2018: Being Documented and Investigated by Architects, Historians, Archaeologists and Dendrochronologists." You can check it out in the following link: Newsletter.
