Who we are

The mission of the Historic Resources Committee (HRC) is to identify, understand, and preserve architectural heritage, both nationally and internationally. HRC is engaged in promoting the role of the historic architect within the profession through the development of information and knowledge among members, allied professional organizations, and the public.

    The Mesa to Mountain Symposium focuses on preservation issues in the Western US and is a joint collaboration between APTI, the APT Western, Rocky Mountain, and APT Northwest Chapters.  This symposium focuses on the theme of “western sites, materials, and conditions.” It will be held March 23-25, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT. 

    The two-day symposium includes an opening lecture and reception, one day of paper sessions, and a second full day of tours. Presentation tracks and tours will highlight regional contexts unique to the American West, including climatological, geological, and historical aspects that shape the cultural resources and conservation approaches in the region. Of course, much of this will also be of interest to those not living or practicing in the Western U. S.
