The Heritage Documentation Programs (Historic American Buildings Survey / Historic American Engineering Record / Historic American Landscapes Survey), a division of the National Park Service, in collaboration with the National Council for Preservation Education, seeks applications from qualified students and recent graduates in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, and architectural history, for 2019 summer employment documenting historic sites and structures of architectural, landscape, and technological significance throughout the United States. Duties involve on-site field work and the preparation of measured and interpretive drawings and written historical reports for the HABS/HAER/HALS Collection at the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. Projects last 12 weeks, beginning in late May or early June. Salaries range from approximately $8,000 to $12,000 for the summer, depending upon job responsibility and level of experience. Positions will be located at the HDP offices in Washington DC.
