Does anyone out there know of a repository for WPA (1939) drawings of buildings? I have a historic school building that I am searching for the original drawings. Thanks

Not the original drawings but many buildings were documented by HABS and are archived at the Library of Congress.
You can search the collection at this link.

WPA drawings should be at the National Archives. Not to be confused with
HABS drawings which are at the Library of Congress. -Jim Massey

Try your State Department of Education.  They often have a repository on microfilm. I recently was able to find a set of 1927 drawings there.

It may be worth looking in your state archives, if Arizona has one.  I know that has been one of the best sources for old drawings of public buildings in Massachusetts.

Our City started archiving drawings in 1930 on microfiche. I found a 1933 building there. Try your closest university Archives also.

    Ron,

I would start with  the National Archives records for the Works Progress Administration, Reports, Drawings, Blueprints, and Photographs Relating to Construction Projects, 1935 - 1939.

There are also correspondence records filed by state, so you might look there, too.

    Good hunting.

Look for the HABS documentation at the Library of Congress.
