  • 1.  house/barn, move

    Hello folks ---

Wow, moving a house barn 180 miles?  Amazing.  Thoughts:
    1.     So far...:
For that distance, wouldn't the dis-assembly-&-rebuilding approach be much more efficient, and cost a helluva lot less?
    2.     Unless...:
If the end use is to be for a public-access use, the drama and exposure/PR might be worth the cost of moving it whole, w/ all those utilities to be moved, trees cut, etc.  If it goes well, you could have the original plaster, etc., in the living areas.
    3.     But...waste?
The environmental cost of moving it whole could be extensive.  I'm thinking of high shoulders that need to be cut down, and low shoulders that need to be built up, maybe hundreds of trees that need to be removed, etc., plus the fuel involved for that powerful towing truck.

    Good luck!
