2019 Housing Design Forum : Housing Transformations: Density Done Right
May 20 2019 | Seattle, WA | 7 LU/HSWs

Design professionals in the urban built environment often advocate for “good density.” But what exactly does that look like, and how specifically can the planning, design, and construction of housing options support vibrant communities? How can the integration of new housing center equity, sustainability and livability in rapidly changing neighborhoods? Join us for a full day program exploring housing transformations that advance density done right.

This full day program at Seattle Art Museum will feature learning from other cities (notably the City of Minneapolis, about their 2040 plan), local design case studies, and community-sourced lightning talk presentations. The day will end with esteemed keynote speaker Lorcan O’Herlihy (LOHA) giving a talk titled “Social Occupation.” We will be partnering with Housing Development Consortium to co-promote the forum and affordable housing week (also in May), and aecKnowledge will be filming the forum again this year to make available for online CEUs indefinitely.
