Ricardo Álvarez-Díaz is the Co-founder and CEO of Álvarez-Díaz & Villalón® | Architecture & Interior Design.  Recently chosen as one of the Best 300 Architecture firms in the US by Architectural Record, his firm has been recognized with numerous local and international design awards for its work in the United States, Central America, South America, and the Middle East. In 2022, the architect was elevated as a member of the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows, distinguished for his contributions to architecture and society.

As an expert on design and construction issues, Álvarez-Díaz has actively participated in several boards and advisory panels. He co-led the team that developed the resilient design guides for multifamily and single-family housing development for Puerto Rico in collaboration with Enterprise Communities.

Cristina Villalón has designed projects in New York, Florida, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Oman, Venezuela and Puerto Rico many of which have received high recognition and mention in the press. Her intelligent use of holistic design coupled with extensive experience in the construction, renovation and expansion of residential and commercial interiors, plus a healthy hint of perfectionism, have helped her attract a wide variety of top-notch clients globally.

Renowned for her interiors, that are as welcoming as they are functional, Villalón was honored in 2015 with the Star on the Rise award by the Design Center of the Americas. In 2013 and 2015, examples of her work were featured in the books The Best of Residential Architecture and Design and The Best of Education and Culture, both published by Interior Design Books.
