This exciting annual event is designed to stimulate critical inquiry, creative ideas and multi-disciplinary interaction between students and design professionals. It will highlight the brilliance and innovation of our future health care architects, engineers, construction managers and nurses. Students from five different universities and disciplines will bring their creativity and ideas to this fun and evocative design charrette.
During this time, students will present work completed during the three-day-long challenge for critique by a multi-disciplinary jury and the winning will be team announced.Academy Update

Codes and Standards Forum: Programming and Planning
March 24, 7-8am
This presentation explores the unique architectural impacts related to codes in the acute care environment. The design approach and the specific features of health design on the various service lines and support areas in the hospital require specific knowledge, particularly regarding their applicability to patient and staff safety. Also, the codes and standards for health design will be reviewed as well as their impact on the delivery of patient care. Professionals in Health Care Organizations Forum

The Professionals in Health Care Organizations Forum is a platform for the interaction and open discussion between professionals working in health care facilities (architects, engineers, biomedical engineers, contractors, facility managers, risk managers, etc.) and consultant design professionals. This forum will review some of the administrative and practical issues associated with the delivery and operations of health care projects, with audience participation.
