When:  Dec 1, 2021 from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)

RUDC Symposium: Virtual Migrations (2 LU)
Day 2

Migrations is the fourth AIA RUDC Symposium on the Future of Urban Design Education and Practice. This series addresses critical challenges facing the profession of architecture and brings together practitioners, educators, and theorists to assert innovative solutions to address them. Previous sessions probed strategies to address the impacts of the pandemic and public health, the climate, and mechanisms to bridge teaching and practice. The fall 2021 symposium is divided into two sessions that highlight disruptive migration patterns at a variety of scales and their impacts on contemporary notions of urbanism.

Session description

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted migration patterns in fundamental ways, as remote work has altered how and where people conduct business. Virtual Migrations, the second in the two-part series, underscores the dynamics at work as technological advances and pervasive high-speed internet are enabling greater efficiencies.
