The AIA Academy of Architecture for Health's Research Initiatives Committee has just downloaded another one of two new "bench-marking" case studies today. This 2020 AIA/AAH Healthcare Design Award winning project is the Mountain Park Health Center located in Tempe, Arizona and was designed by the SmithGroup. This project is of particular interest in that it transformed an existing tilt-up slab "Big Box" windowless store into a daylit Community Asset both externally and internally, while providing a very interesting and functional "on-stage/off-stage" Community Health Clinic layout with well thought-out staff and family collaboration spaces. We have also added the introductory 2-page spread to pique your interest. Go to the Case Study Library to see the rest of this Case Study.
The American Institute of Architects recognized the project as one of the best in the nation, awarding it a 2020 AIA/AAH Healthcare Design Award.
We now have forty-five (45) Case Studies of the 2013 through 2020 AIA Academy of Architecture for Health's Award-Winning Projects in the Library. We have drafted, and continue to draft, more of the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Award Winning projects Case Studies; and we will be submitting more of them over the next few weeks. We have also started the 2021 Award Winning Projects as well and will be adding some of these 2021 Award Winning Case Studies soon.
