    JUMP into STEM is back with three new challenges and more opportunities for university students interested in building science. The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Building Technologies Office's annual competition kicks off its sixth year August 1, 2023.

    Hosted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), the online competition provides students enrolled in a U.S. college or university with the opportunity to present solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing building scientists today. The competition is also supported by industry sponsorship.

    This year's JUMP into STEM challenge closes on November 10, 2023, and the Final Competition will be held January 25-26, 2024, at ORNL.

    Students in teams of two to four will focus on the following challenge topics:
