    Greetings all,

It's been a long time since I've posted here. I've been hard at work getting a brand new NPS site up and running. The Medgar and Myrlie Evers National Monument is one of the newest additions to the National Park Service and next week, June 9, 10, and 11 is the grand opening. For those of you who aren't familiar with Medgar and Myrlie Evers, they were the preeminent civil rights activists in Mississippi in the early 1960s. So much so that just after midnight on June 12, Medgar was assassinated in the driveway of the home while his wife and children were inside watching television. That was 60 years ago and next week's event celebrates his life and legacy while welcoming this home into the National Park Service. I hope you'll stop by. I'll be at the planning table talking about next steps for the park and providing information for public comments.

Schedule of Events: 60th Anniversary of Medgar Evers' Assassination - Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)

Be sure to stop by and say hello if you attend.

    Best,
