  • 1.  The CRAN Chronicle Is Looking for Articles

    Posted 05-11-2016 03:12 PM

We are seeking articles and/or projects for upcoming issues of the CRAN Chronicle. The Chronicle is the quarterly newsletter which is compiled by members of CRAN and for CRAN members. The committee has established some very broad themes for issues and are looking for authors willing to submit articles related to those themes.

Our upcoming issue has been given a theme of Financial. Do you have any financial advice or experience you can share with other CRAN members? Did you start your own firm? What financial bumps did encounter during the process?

Are you a young member of a firm? What financial items would you like to know more about? 401K programs? Would you like to know how to better discuss financially related items with clients?

What types of unique financing have you seen used on projects?

Any article which has a financial-related topic is welcome. These need to be submitted to cran@aia.org by MAY 18TH.

The late summer issue has been given a theme of Legal. We are also seeking submissions for that issue and will take any article related to this theme. Articles for that issue must be submitted by August 8th.

Articles should be approximately 800 words and be on a relevant subject which be considered helpful and relevant by fellow architects.

If you have ideas for articles which do not fit into either of these themes, please submit your idea to CRAN@AIA.ORG - your contributions are always welcome.

Also - we are always looking for your proposed or completed project to feature in the issues. They can be small renovations, historic preservation, new construction or anything in-between! Please send a message to CRAN@AIA.ORG if you're interested and we can assist you with uploading photos and information.

    Thank you,

    Brenda Nelson

As a general, quick update, if you have sent an email responding to our call for articles, to CRAN@aia.org, please don't be discouraged if you do not get an immediate response. Our dedicated national AIA staff assists with those emails and as we all know, National AIA Convention is this week which has commandeered their time and energy. We will respond as soon as possible.

If you are still considering submitting articles - please do so! Your contributions are greatly needed!

    Thank you,

    Brenda Nelson
