Who we are

The Academy page supports AIA's efforts to connect education and practice. AIA works with faculty, staff and students; practitioners; and collateral organizations to support excellence in education and research, expand the pathway to the profession, and prepare future architects. AIA regularly pools resources with AIAS, ACSA, NCARB, NAAB, and others to provide scholarships, educational programming, research, resources, and more.

  • 1.  Labor Day Weekend Update

    Posted 09-03-2021 12:52 PM

    Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Best wishes for a safe, healthy, Labor Day weekend. Happily vaccinated, I send good wishes to you all.

Several of us recently completed working with a small group of students from six HBCU Architecture programs, getting their input into the Renovation of the AIA headquarters building. Our design team, led by AIA's project executive, Stephen Ayres, FAIA, and our EHDD staff, Kevin Moultrie Daye and Doris Guerrero, AIA, have been phenomenal. Luckily Kevin and Doris have taught previously and designed an incredible set of five workshops for our interns and a variety of stakeholders. We should have more on this venture soon, but virtual internships are one answer to engaging and connecting beyond all our communities and gaining perspectives from across the generations!

Please check out these upcoming career fairs, conferences, and calls – including our two sessions from Higher Ed at Intersections Research Conference and ACSA Administrators Conference!
