Thank you for posting this article. Several years shipping containers where used as a destination in a multi stop around the world sailboat race. They made a lovely Instant City. I saw a similar thing in Quebec City for its 400th year Anniversary. Instant- City.
For each use the containers where heavily modified by use and building code that they could have almost been stick built.
When playing the Archigram role of Instant City, temporary use containers are fine.
For any other use they are the symbols of " Hip and Cool" nothing more and nothing less.
Even the simplistic symbolism of Habitat had to face the reality of building.
