The mission of the AIA Design for Aging (DFA) Knowledge Community is to foster design innovation and disseminate knowledge necessary to enhance the built environment and quality of life for an aging society. This includes relevant research on characteristics, planning and costs associated with innovative design for aging. In addition, DFA provides outcome data on the value of these design solutions and environments.

    Hello Design for Aging Knowledge Community,


    AIA New Jersey, AIA New York State, and AIA Pennsylvania are proud to announce the 2019 Tri-State Conference: Breaking Ground.  The three states are looking for your expertise and thought leadership for this conference, October 17-19.


    Following the success of the 2017 QUAD State Conference, the three states have come together once again to share ideas and technologies that are redefining our industry.


    Creative ideas will be considered in all areas, including, but not limited to the suggested topics below:

    • Designing for a senior population
    • Humanitarian design
    • Emerging professionals: Advocating for your value in the profession
    • New techniques for creating space

    The call for presentations is due Monday, April 22 >
