The one certainty with technology is that it will change. This is especially true in healthcare design, where, as healthcare architects, we aim to anticipate change, design for flexibility, and ensure that buildings last far longer than any current trend in technology. This presentation will explore the role that technology plays in the patient experience, staff experience, and healthcare operations. It will also highlight the interrelationship between the technology master plan and the facility master plan as both seek to address the needs of technology infrastructure within existing buildings while ensuring the adaptability and flexibility to support future building needs- whether they are anticipated or still unknown.
