The Committee on the Environment (COTE®) is an AIA Knowledge Community working for architects, allied professionals, and the public to achieve climate action and climate justice through design.     I saw this article several days ago and tweeted it then. The coronavirus numbers are old but as I have been observing the global mobilization to address this pandemic, I wonder why the global community has never been able to muster a fraction of this effort in order to confront climate change. The effects of climate change have significantly more devastating consequences in human life every year. During this challenging time we have learned how to get things done while consuming less, traveling less and supporting our communities more. We have all learned to navigate virtual workspaces and community networks to great effect. How might this change how we work and play post-Covid? I hope that as the global economy restores itself, we will take the opportunity to accelerate solutions to our climate challenge in the process.
