Thank you to Paula Melton and BuildingGreen, Inc for a great article about existing buildings, a complex building type that is absolutely essential as we work to reverse global warming and build a healthy, equitable future.

On a related note, I'm delighted that this year's AIA COTE Top Ten Awards (https://www.aia.org/resources/6280238-2020-cote-top-ten-awards) included several renovation/addition projects in the group of 10 winners. Congratulations to the clients and design teams!

It's high time that this complex and extremely important building type got the attention that it deserved.
