HOK's Anica Landreneau on Design the Future podcast

  • 1.  HOK's Anica Landreneau on Design the Future podcast

    Posted 01-15-2021 01:31 PM

Lindsay Baker and I had a terrific time talking to Anica Landreneau, AIA, who leads HOK's global sustainable design practice, for our latest Design the Future podcast, on the Women in Sustainability platform of Acuity Brands.

Anica is an architect with the advocacy gene and the will to make it matter -- a true Citizen Architect for the era of climate change. We have to step forward, she says, because "code and policy changes are needed. Who do we think will do this?" In those words, Anica articulates a question that is, perhaps, lurking for so many active in the realm of climate action and design. "If not us, then who?"

I was especially keen to hear about a tool she is developing to help designers quantify potential project impacts and who is impacted. For equity gains, like others, we can't manage (and improve) what we don't measure.
