call for Volunteers / & Jury members

  • 1.  call for Volunteers / & Jury members

    Posted 10-07-2022 11:49 AM
    Dear COTE Community --

Reminder that the AIA call for volunteers is out - deadline 17 October. This includes leader groups with all the KCs (I recommend COTE!) and other roles, such as on Board Committees (such as CCADE and the Public Awareness Committee) plus Strategic Council.
    https://www.aia.org/pages/6541993-volunteer-opportunities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">https://www.aia.org/pages/6541993-volunteer-opportunities
Today, I want to bring your attention to another part of this call: AIA Honors & Awards has made some changes to the process of appointing juries (these changes has been implemented, partially, and have not been clarified for KCs yet, so some of the details are fuzzy). But the important -- and timely -- point is this:
AIA is calling for names for juries -- including all the KC awards (including COTE's Awards and Student Competition) AND Institute awards.
It's a little tricky to find the opportunities (and harder still to compare/contrast): There is drop down menu with many listings.

You will find the COTE juries listed as:

    "COTE Top Ten Jury"

"COTE Top Ten for Students Jury"

There are also entries for other juries Postassociated with KCs but also the Institute/H&A programs (such as Topaz Medallion, and jury for the 25 year award. Fellowship Jury, Gold Medal and Firm Award juries, and more.

Please consider applying for one or more of these, and please ask potential candidates to do so, too.

Even though we are not yet privy to all details of the new process, it is critical that we get a strong selection of highly qualified SMEs (with keen attention to generational, ethnic/racial, and gender diversity) into the hopper for many of these groups. This is crucial to maintaining the quality and credibility of our programs and also elevating the AIA/H&A programs.
Everyone: If there is someone that you think we should approach and you do not have time to achieve this in the coming days (to give applicants a little time before the 17 October deadline), let me know who that is and I will reach out (dropping your name if necessary).
