On May 20, from 4-6pm ET, Built Environment Plus (formerly the USGBC Massachusetts Chapter) is hosting its Building Tech Forum virtually -- and they are offering this event to participants at a pay-as-you-can rate. This dynamic event is focused on Boston and Massachusetts, but will offer lessons and parallels for many other communities.

Governor Baker has increased the Commonwealth's commitment to carbon neutral by 2050. In order to achieve this, https://www.mass.gov/info-details/ma-decarbonization-roadmap" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Massachusetts is developing a roadmap (https://www.mass.gov/info-details/ma-decarbonization-roadmap) to reduce emissions by 100%! At the same time, the BBRS is drafting a Net Zero Stretch Code. The City of Boston is developing performance standards for existing residential and commercial buildings, Brookline residents voted in favor of a natural gas ban, and the City of Somerville just passed carbon neutral zoning. The landscape is changing quickly, the Building Tech Forum will provide the context for how we get there.

This event will be the first of a series of "Tech Forums," each featuring a different theme and lineup of expert speakers. A new session will be scheduled every couple of months and will feature 10-15 speakers. Unlike prior Building Tech Forums, this new iteration will feature an online web forum that will host discussions and recordings of the sessions.
