Top Ten for Students Competition: 2020 Winners

Seeing student work is sometimes like seeing a glimpse of what is possible -- especially for a profession (and world) adapting in real time to the climate challenge. Marsha Maytum, FAIA, snapshots this year's great turnout and results.

More than 600 students from 47 architecture schools submitted entries to the 2019-2020 COTE Top Ten for Students Competition, an AIA COTE program administered in partnership with ACSA, which recognizes exceptional studio projects moving towards carbon-neutral operation through integration of design strategies and sustainable systems.

Congratulations to the winners and all those students and faculty who participated, and to this year's fantastic jury: Elgin Cleckley, of the University of Virginia; Carly Coulson, AIA, of Coulson; Tom Kundig, FAIA, of  Olson Kundig; Adrian Parr, of the University of Texas at Arlington, and Michael Horan, of Clemson University, a past winner/student juror.
