AIA 2030 Committee and AIACC Committee on the Environment Present the Half Day Workshop:
WE 310: The 2030 Commitment: Going for It, Targeting High-Performance Excellence
    Wednesday June 5, 2019: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
2019 AIA Conference on Architecture, Las Vegas, Nevada

    Workshop Description:
This immersive workshop co-organized by the AIA 2030 Workgroup and the AIA California Council (AIACC) Committee on the Environment, will provide an overview of the 2030 Commitment program as well as the support for participating firms to use the 2030 Commitment as a transformative tool for the design of high-performance architecture. The workshop will provide a hands-on review of the commitment process: including the commitment letter, Sustainability Action Plan (SAP), basic modeling tools, and reporting using the online Design Data Exchange (DDx) tool. Four architecture firms, all with significant experience with the Commitment, will facilitate the workshop. We will discuss how firms are using it to measure their own portfolios, to improve their environmental leadership, and to provide a direct response to demand from local and state environmental goals. Three AIACC Cote firms will share how the 2030 Commitment has become an integral part of their firm culture, has provided the firms with design inspiration and has led to architectural excellence. Information will be presented to give attendees all the information they need to allow them to participate in this collective leadership effort of the AIA and to leverage the 2030 Commitment tools to move their firms toward higher environmental performance and architectural excellence.

By the end of the session, firms participating will have completed the following:
    1. Sign the Commitment Letter
    2. Create and Adopt a Sustainability Action Plan
    3. Navigate the DDx and Report a Single Project (Real or Prototypical)
    4. Leverage DDx Reporting to Improve Design Processes
