K-12 Education Programs at the A'17 Conference in Orlando

  • 1.  K-12 Education Programs at the A'17 Conference in Orlando

    Posted 03-24-2017 06:02 PM
I would like to bring to your attention two valuable programs being presented at the A'17 Conference in Orlando. Produced by the A'17 Conference K-12 Committee. these sessions are focused on K-12 Education and intended to engage architects to take an active role within their communities to build the next generation of architects and consumers of the built environment.
    • The first is TH104 and titled "Building Communities and Diversity Through Architecture and Design High Schools". It will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 7:00 AM. The program will consist of a moderated panel discussion with leaders from the Cleveland School of Architecture and Design at John Hay High School, The CHAD School in Philadelphia, the DASH School in Miami and the Build San Francisco Institute Program. These leaders will discuss how the programs they will present are impacting their communities and helping to build a pipeline to the profession. They will provide insight on how these programs came into existence and role of architects in creating and facilitating them.
    • The second is titled "Inspire Architecture". It will take place on Friday, May 29 at 12:00 PM.  The program is a "Genius Bar for Sharing Ideas" and will focus on presenting unique initiatives being facilitated by architects and components around the country. Following a fast paced presentation by the various program leaders, there will be a break-out session to take a deeper dive into individual programs and allow for dialogue and and an interactive exchange of ideas. The objective is to encourage attendees to walk away with a strategy for implementing their own local programs based upon the inspiration of others.
We hope you will put these programs on your calendar and plan to attend.
