Who we are

The Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE) is a Knowledge Community of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We are a large and active group of over 10,000 architects and allied professionals concerned with the quality and design of all types of educational, cultural, and recreational facilities that promote lifelong learning in safe, welcoming and equitable environments. The CAE’s mission is to foster innovative and collaborative design of educational facilities and to heighten public awareness on the importance of learning environments.

The CAE Research Task Force has hosted a few fabulous speakers recently and all their call recordings can be found in the presentations folder of the file library.

    Please take a look:
    • September 6th call with Erika Eitland MPH, public health researcher with Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health
    • October 4th call with Dr. Lesley-Ann Noel, Associate Director for Design Thinking for Social Impact and Professor of Practice at the Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking at Tulane University
    • December 6th call with Jennifer Seydel PhD, Executive Director of the Green Schools National Network
We would also love to know your opinions about the calls and who might be interested in helping coordinate speakers in future. Please let us know your thoughts in our survey.
