This month's AIA CAE K12 subcommittee call included a wealth of information from Jaime Zaplatosch, Director for Children and Nature Network and Melissa Turnbaugh, Principal at PBK, on green schoolyards and the host of benefits for learning, health & wellness, community and the environment. The presentation covered green schoolyard basics, resources, case studies of district-wide programs around the country and touched on outdoor learning during COVID19. A rich and relevant conversation, Jaime brought forward a wealth of resources developed by the Children and Nature Network that might help us all better implement city-wide, equity-based program development across the U.S. Including building partnerships, as well as the creative development and use of green space to support thriving communities.
