Who we are

The Academy page supports AIA's efforts to connect education and practice. AIA works with faculty, staff and students; practitioners; and collateral organizations to support excellence in education and research, expand the pathway to the profession, and prepare future architects. AIA regularly pools resources with AIAS, ACSA, NCARB, NAAB, and others to provide scholarships, educational programming, research, resources, and more.

    A few items to share on this cold January day:

    In 2018, the AIA awarded 139 Henry Adams medals and certificates to the top US and Canadian graduates in the professional degree programs of Bachelor of Architecture, Master of Architecture and Doctor of Architecture. See the attached PDF for a complete list and background on the award program. The 2019 submission portal will open in February for this year's medalists.

    Hazem Rashid-Ali, Associate Professor, UTSA and President, Architecture Research Centers Consortium, is partnering in a global survey on architecture graduates. If you are an architecture graduate, please take 10 minutes to share your thoughts at Architecture Afterlife Survey
