    PID forum members,

The next issue of the AIA Practice Management Digest will focus on “Pro-bono work/public interest architecture: Socially conscious design and why architects choose to give back to the community”.

We’re looking for stories from firms that have made pro-bono work and public interest architecture part of their firm culture. Some questions we are interested in having answered include (you can focus on one, or answer multiple):

    • What reasons do you have for providing pro-bono work?
    • With the high demand for pro-bono services from non-profits, how do you determine which projects to be involved with?
    • How do you decide the fees you will donate/charge?
    • Are there innovative ways that architects can get involved on socially conscious architecture projects?
    • How have you promoted the work you do on these projects in your print and social media marketing?
    • What added or inherent risks do non-profit/pro-bono projects pose?
    • What projects can you point to as case studies for how an architect can elevate the prominence or quality of the solution for these types of projects?
