    Sponsored by the Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community, the AIA Innovation Awards recognize the exemplary use and implementation of innovative technologies and progressive practices among architects and designers, their collaborators, and their clients, in support of the design, delivery and operation of buildings or research in practice and academia.

    The 2017 submission categories are:

    • Stellar Design
    • Project Delivery & Construction Administration Excellence
    • Project Lifecycle Performance
    • Practice-based or Academic Research, Curriculum or Applied Technology Development
    • Exemplary use in a Small Firm

    This award is open to all, at any level in any field, except those who are jury members or have a substantial interest in a jury member's firm or organization.

    Hi Maggie, can an Australian building designer enter? I believe we have some great examples of the use of innovative technology in design. 
    Virtual Design and Construction technology is imperative down under, and I am sure many would follow suit when they see what our firm is doing in the design process to eliminate problems and planning to budgets while ensuring the home is sustainable.
     I look forward to entering.... If not I know of some Californian architects who are using this technology, I can mention the awards to them.  The following images are just an example of what I am referring to. 
    RFI tags for comunication is something that saves us a lot of time and money whilst reducing errors in designH-vac at design stage solves retro fit and bulk heads3D walk through for client communication
