Who we are

The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

    Sponsored by TAP, the AIA Innovation Awards recognize the exemplary use and implementation of innovative technologies and progressive practices among architects and designers, their collaborators, and their clients, in support of the design, delivery and operation of buildings or research in practice and academia.

    The 2017 submission categories are:

    • Stellar Design
    • Project Delivery & Construction Administration Excellence
    • Project Lifecycle Performance
    • Practice-based or Academic Research, Curriculum or Applied Technology Development
    • Exemplary use in a Small Firm

    This award is open to all, at any level in any field, except those who are jury members or have a substantial interest in a jury member's firm or organization.
