Who we are

The AIA Technology in Architectural Practice Knowledge Community (TAP) serves as a resource for AIA members, the profession, and the public in the deployment of computer technology in the practice of architecture. TAP leaders monitor the development of computer technology and its impact on architecture practice and the entire building life cycle, including design, construction, facility management, and retirement or reuse.

The Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community leadership invites you to attend the annual Building Connections Congress virtually to explore the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for architects and designers, and what you need to do in your practice to leverage AI's benefits.

Every Thursday from February 4-25, there will be thought-provoking presentations followed by discussions on how architects can prepare for the wide-spread adoption of AI in the profession; learn about existing tools and applications that are dramatically reducing the barrier of entry for using machine learning; discuss ways of structuring data for use in machine learning systems; and explore the role AI will play in contributing to more productive and successful businesses and careers.

No matter the size of your firm or practice, technology is constantly evolving and everyone is using it now more than ever in a variety of ways. Let's share best practices and ideas. We hope you'll join us for some great conversations and discoveries!
