    Dear all,
I'm pleased to be Issue Editor for the most recent issue, Translation, from the journal of Technology | Architecture and Design (TAD). TAD is published by the ACSA and sponsored by AIA. I wanted to make you aware that, due to the pandemic, the journal is free and open until August 1, 2020.

This issue has many papers that should be of interest to practitioners including an essay challenging the research/practice divide, reviews of California Energy regulations and the Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan, an essay on mass-timber performance-based codes, and a paper about how questions that arose in practice and were researched through academic partnerships contributed to Helsinki's new public library. There is also an analysis of Guastavino specifications and a paper describing a project for neurodiverse students. Finally, in the COVID-19 period, there is much discussion of robotic construction - this issue has an essay by the founder of a layout automation startup and a paper by an interdisciplinary team considering automation and the future of equitable work.
Typically only 2 papers are open per issue to non-subscribers – please take advantage of the opportunity to read this journal and share widely with colleagues.
    Take care,
    Caryn
