Can any of you advise on design standards, or cite any good project examples for our reference, from your experience with micro-unit apts ? We're working on "live-work" and "short-term stay" rental units that will be as small as 260 SF efficiencies and up to about 450 SF one bdrm units. These will be built in a group of just 5 units as an addition and renovation for a three-story small, older building, on the 2nd and 3rd flrs. First flr will be wither a co-working space used by the upper flr residents, or possibly a separated commercial space occupied by others. Project Owner has already secured Zoning Board permission prior to our involvement to go below the local min of 400 SF. Wondering in particular if you've managed to find any dimensional compromises on accessibility standards for bathrooms, doorways, any other clearances throughout. Or, any other "tricks." Building will not have an elevator.
Thanks for any tips out there.
