For years we have owned a HP1050C - only used for check sets, etc.  Really served us well (even produced a lot of billings) but now it has become too hard to get printheads, etc. so it's time to "give up the ghost". Any thoughts as to getting rid of it in a more responsible way before sending it off to the trash would be helpful. If anyone needs some parts (to keep theirs alive) from it that are easy to ship - reach out.

Have a Happy New Year and stay safe.

Years ago we donated our inkjet plotter to a school. They were happy to take it of our hands. If you give them the heads up that parts could be a problem and they take it all's well. Otherwise find a location that takes universal waste.

I would take it to a recycling center which handles electronic items.

Some Communities have an "electronics recycling section" of their waste disposal, where they disassble parts and pieces for various materials recycling.

HP itself (and most electronics companies) has its own recycling program. Some of the big box office stores also have printer recycling events.

I have the same issue with my old HP750 - not sure if any of it is recyclable

HP actually offers a variety of recycling services. You may want to check out this page to see if they'll take your plotter: Hardware Recycling

In Frederick, MD, there is a company that does electronics recycling.  www.eendusa.com  I would hope there might be something similar near you.
