I was answering an aspiring architect's question on what to do to learn more about the profession. The first tip was to travel. The second was a handful of books that I recommended, each for their own reasons. This list expands on that in the categories of: entrepreneurship (totally lacking from education), design process and inspiration, and finally construction. I know these architecture book lists can be somewhat polarizing - this is just my personal choice of books for aspiring architects based on my experiences.
Please share what books YOU would recommend to a hopeful architect. One that someone mentioned that I wish I added was Herman Hertzberger's book,
Lessons for Students in Architecture. I loved that one when I found it in undergrad.
