Dear Colleagues:
We need your help with the current phase of the "Managing Uncertainty" research program, sponsored by AIA and the AIA Large Firm Roundtable with AGC, Construction Owners Association of America, DBIA, Graphisoft, and Lean Construction Institute. You've probably seen our original research report --
Managing Uncertainty and Expectations in Building Design and Construction -- published in 2014. We introduced the
Project Planning Guide for Owners and Project Teams at the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture. Both documents are available for download without charge from the Dodge Data & Analytics website:
www.construction.com.We're now developing a unique industry database of actual project cost experience, contributed in confidence by owners and aggregated for search by project type, size, location, delivery method, and other parameters. The database will allow users to determine how the risk factors identified in the
Managing Uncertainty research have been encountered in similar projects, and with what cost and schedule impacts.
We're recruiting owners of projects in the office, education, and healthcare sectors to contribute information to the "pilot" stage of this database initiative. Project names and details will not be identified. I've attached a one-page invitation describing this request. Participants will receive a confidential summary of our findings from the data we receive. Please talk with appropriate clients about this opportunity, and forward questions and client contact information to me by e-mail at
davis@cameronmacallister.com, or by phone at 636-448-9227.
Together, these
Managing Uncertainty tools will help architects provide stronger leadership in their client relationships and projects. Thank you for your assistance.
